Dr. Thomas Debbink works for Tiffin University, teaching courses like Strategic Management, Introduction to Management, Organization Theory, and Business Ethics.
Prior to that he worked for Delphi Chassis Division of General Motors, where he had a variety of assignments in Manufacturing, Quality Control and Engineering, Salaried Personnel Administration, and Purchasing. Assignments included supervision of hourly and salaried employees; overall plant management with responsibility for capital and operating expenditure authorizations; and assessment and improvement of manufacturing and quality systems for a wide variety of suppliers in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Finland & Germany.

His consulting experience includes NCR Corporation, Dayton, Ohio– where he conducted an assessment of a project designed to reengineer the organization’s demand fulfillment systems. At Advance Centralized Purchasing Staff, General Motors, Detroit, Michigan, division (Structured purchasing systems for improved internal coordination/optimization) he analyzed planned corporate restructuring and its impact on purchasing activities. At Klein Associates, Dayton, Ohio, he analyzed organizational relationships for two Naval projects: guided missile cruiser combat information center reengineering and aircraft carrier landing signal officer performance improvement.

His interest in research is directed to make-buy decision making, organizational transition, and organizational deception.

Personal statement: “Having the opportunity to teach in Romania was one of the most interesting and rewarding experiences of my career. Teaching students who sincerely want knowledge, not just a degree, is exciting and fun. Romania, as an emerging market and economic structure, presents a wealth of opportunity for those who are prepared.”
