Dr. Daniel T. Mays has been an adjunct instructor at Tiffin University since 1999 where he teaches a variety of business administration courses in the U.S. and Romania MBA programs, including information and decision support, managerial accounting, leadership & teamwork, leadership & influence, and global & transnational management. He also teaches social psychology.
In addition to his work with Tiffin University, Dr. Mays is the managing partner of Mays Consulting. He has 23 years of management and consulting experience in a wide range of industries, especially medical product, technology, wholesale distribution and manufacturing. His management experience includes wholesale medical product distribution as Executive Vice President of Quanetics, Inc.; sales and marketing as Director of Operations for United Rep & Marketing; human factors consulting, technology consulting and software development as President of Mays Development; and operation of a healthcare practice as Director of the New Jersey Psychological Institute.
A major component of Dr. Mays’ consulting practice involves business and strategic planning. He has developed business plans for over 100 companies ranging from entrepreneurial startups to Fortune 500 companies, including the founding of franchise operations and new product launches. He also consults with small-to-medium companies to improve their business processes and accounting and information systems. He has assisted U.S. companies in strategic planning for and offshoring of operations to China, Mexico and Romania.
Dr. Mays holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers University, a MS from Hahnemann Medical College, and undergraduate degrees in English and Sociology. He has published numerous articles in multiple disciplines, and co-authored two texts, Negative Outcome in Psychotherapy and What to Do about It, and Introduction to Psychology. His Leadership Personality Inventory is used in the evaluation of management leadership styles and in employee selection and training.
